Krystian Bala Amok is a Polish true crime book written by Jacek Piekara and published in 2003. The book is based on the real-life murder case of Dariusz Janiszewski, a businessman who was found dead in the Oder River in Poland in 2000. Krystian Bala, a writer and photographer, was convicted of the murder in 2007, after evidence found in his novel Amok was linked to the crime. The novel portrays a similar murder to that of Janiszewski's and contained many details that only the killer could have known. The case received worldwide attention and is considered a landmark case in the use of literature as evidence in a criminal trial. The book is available for purchase in Polish language, but there is no information about it being available to read online.
